Pierce Brosnan and Meryl Streep in ‘Mamma Mia’ movie

According to the news, the ex-James Bond, Pierce Brosnan is set to star in the film adaptation of hit Abba musical Mamma Mia. The actor accepted on the spot as he couldn’t miss the chance to appear alongside double Oscar winner Meryl Streep. The producers of the Abba ‘Mamma Mia’ movie version hopes the film will have the same impact as the musical did in 1999, making it one of the most successful musicals of all time.
The production company Playtone has sign a deal with Mamma Mia! producer Judy Craymer and ABBA songwriters Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaus to produce a movie version with hopes to have it in theaters by late 2007, for more details go

I said yes right away because it meant working with Meryl Streep. Secondly, I saw the show with my family in London, and found it just so wonderfully happy and joyful, and so pitched in time forever in the 1970s. What a kick in the pants, to be able to go off and spend time with Meryl on some Greek island, singing Abba songs.- Pierce Brosnan recalled -
